Bumping Arms

If walking close

Side by side

Bumping arms

On a chilly night

Downtown

Looking at old houses

If that’s the closest

I’ll get

To holding your hand

Or holding you close

At least for right now

Well

Hell

I’ll take it.

Lesson learned. I’m too hostile.
Whatever it is, your writing is lovely.

But I do appreciate the praise. So without the drunkin’ sarcastic tone, Thank you kindly. Sincerely. Why Anonymous??

Things are either poetry or prose, not both.
Anonymous

Well aware. Thank you kindly. Be sure to consult “Anonymous” on any big decisions moving forward. But I haven’t decided what to classify some of my work in progress under yet. SO, I’d like to cover all my grounds.

Always

I talk to you

For the same reason you would too

People compare how they would spend their lottery winnings

Or browse clothing fittings

To maintain a level of hope

That satisfies the heart on that slippery slope

Without losing grip on the reality that I can’t have you

But forever true

What could have been

What may have been

I will always love you

Only Hope

I wish

I wish you would have stayed

But it was

In your best interest

to leave me

on my merry way

Maybe you’ll be there when

When I return

I return again

But I can only hope

Only hope

I could ever win

Ever win

With you again

Commute

You know those mornings

When you forgot to set your alarm

And you forgot to charge your phone

And you Forgot to wake up on time for work

Then you don’t take a shower,

You don’t put on clean clothes

You don’t brew fresh coffee

To make up for lost time

Then you’re ready to go but you leave your car keys upstairs

Then you realize you didn’t brush your teeth

So you do

Now you’re ready to to leave and you heat up day old coffee

But you get in your car and realize the car keys you went to get

were left on the kitchen counter

And now that that you have your keys you think about it and realize

The coffee is actually two days old

And you look at your car’s digital clock and see that you should be at work

Right the fuck now

But you start the car and start cruising to loud music and sip 2 day old coffee

And realize

You don’t care

Because during that 27 minute commute

Coffee

Music

Time to think

And The Little Things

Everything is okay

Everything

Is just

Okay…

I’m drunk, thinking too much about a girl, scared shitless about leaving for Boot Camp, and wanting more than anything to talk…
Addict

If hope

Was an addiction

People

Would be your ideal
